Isabelle Choiniere-Correa told Tod and
I several times that her Website has helped her to grow
her tarot business rapidly. I recently discussed
her marketing success with her, so I could share her tactics and techniques
with you. Enjoy!
Karen: What are some of the most powerful
strategies you used to grow your business?
Isabelle: Whenever I do face-to-face
networking, through BNI, eWomen Network, or Jumpstart, for instance,
I always send people to my website. With such a beautiful site, sending people to it is
like inviting them into a gorgeous living room designed by a top interior
decorator! A number of people find me through the Berkeley Parents Network – there
are several testimonials about me.
Another tool I use to promote my workshops and services
is www. Meetup.com. It's an Internet service that allows people to create groups based on their
special interests. Membership is free for students and members and the cost
for group facilitators is very low.
Meetup.com comes up pretty high on most search engines. Their website links
to my site and gives me great visibility, and that much more credibility.
Also, their staff is extremely helpful and supportive.
My business partner Janet and I use Meetup.com as
a pool for prospective participants in our monthly discussion groups and
workshops. This meetup
group, named after our workshop, THE BUSINESS OF METAPHYSICS AND THE HEALING
ARTS helps us to easily find potential participants for our monthly workshops.
Karen: What role has your
Website played in your business growth?
Isabelle: I’ve had a website for 1 1/2 years. My
business has grown tremendously in this time and I would attribute
50 - 75 % of that growth to my having a beautiful,
easy-to-navigate website.
My website has facilitated my expansion from 1-on-1
consultations to group events, workshop and classes by making it easy
for participants to download registration forms from the website. Plus, the site allows potential clients
to find out more about my services before they call me.
Karen: Your story of
business growth illustrates a point I frequently emphasize in our
eZine Web Strategies. A
website is a powerful marketing tool that enhances
your other marketing. It doesn't work alone but in conjunction
with other marketing. Don’t
rely on your website alone, rather pick 2-3 marketing strategies you
are comfortable with and learn to do them well.
