Karen and Tod's website book, The Almost Everything Guide for Newbies and Non-Techies, gives the reader a comprehensive yet easy-to-understand overview of what's involved in creating a website. The book is very friendly in tone and at the same time, inspiring. My favorite part of the book is the Bonus Checklist at the end of the ebook. The Checklist breaks down the process of creating a website into distinct manageable steps. Two thumbs up! Margaret Copeland I just wanted to let you know that I greatly enjoyed your web design book. It's full of one-liner tidbits that are really helpful and to the point. The nuggets of advice and information are well worth the short time it takes to read. Thanks! Kathleen Hunt I just read The Almost Everything Website Guide for Newbies and Non-Techies. This great website book is packed with useful information in bite-size pieces. Got two minutes? Sure, everyone can find a couple of minutes, whether waiting on hold with a vendor, or those last few minutes of the day after the kids are in bed and you have some time to relax before retiring yourself. Almost every section in this web site book takes only 2 minutes
to read even if you're not a speed reader. The whole book can be
read in an hour. Useful sections like, "How much does a website cost?" and "How long does it
take to put up?" are on the minds of every business owner who is considering
a website. Great tips include how to avoid the pitfalls of using the
wrong kind of hosting service, how to choose a website name, and bringing
more traffic to your website. Highly recommended reading! Declan Spring I am impressed by the content and flow of this short Website Guide for Newbies and Non-Techies. In the past I haven't wanted to read about website material because I thought it would be boring and nothing I would understand or be interested in. But after reading this I have changed my mind. I particularly, liked the section on bringing traffic to your website. I have found that it does take alot more than passing the word around about your website or creating business cards. I learned that there are quick and easy ways to help market your site. Such as creating a short description of your site and having your website professional put that in the description meta-tag, or by simply submitting your site to key search engines and directories. I think that marketing is a very important part of a website and sometimes with all the technology that goes into a website, the marketing is overlooked. I also like the glossary at the end of the book, I found it very useful and helpful to look up words and technology I was not familiar with. I highly recommend this short and information packed book to anyone. Thank you! karle fried, portrait and kid's photographer
